B-day
So. Yours truly is turning 30 today, and look what came in the mail: the book I designed for Bonnier last year. Heavy weight, rough and beautiful paper.

Except for this season’s first ice cream last Sunday, I am working eight days a week at the moment.

Just a short note to let you know a bit about what’s been happening lately and what’s to come in the near future.
— I am now happy to be represented by the great team at Agent Molly & Co.
— I will once again take part in an exhibition curated by Dutch Uncle during Clerkenwell Design Week in London, May 22-24.
— I am on Facebook after all…
— Last but not least, I am currently working on what can’t be described as nothing but a dream project. Can’t wait to let you know more about this soon.
May is here, and everything is getting beautiful again.

The story evolves around nostalgia and how it affects our current living. Contemplating, getting lost in memories, sipping on the sweet nectar of the past… I have to say I’ve never felt as personal attached to a story that I’m commissioned to illustrate as this one. Perhaps it’s shown in how it turned out, I don’t know. If you’re a returning reader of this blog you might recall this post from last summer.

Small scenes separated:

Wired UK has animated my latest illustration for their Ipad issue. Gentle and subtle. I always prefered the little drum to the big one.
